Bluesfest Byron Bay has unveiled the first wave of artists for its 2026 edition, and it's one of the most iconic announcements in the festival’s 37-year history. Leading the bill are New Zealand/Australian rock legends Split Enz, returning for their first Australian performance in two decades. The festival returns to its home in Byron Bay from 2nd to 5th April, 2026, over the Easter Weekend.
Joining Split Enz are a host of international and local powerhouses, including the legendary Earth, Wind & Fire, ska-punk pioneers Sublime, and Grammy-winning blues icon Buddy Guy. The Black Crowes, The Pogues, and Marcus King Band are also confirmed, while Counting Crows will perform as part of their upcoming Australian tour. Another standout addition is Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew’s Remain in Light show, bringing Talking Heads’ classic album to life on Australian soil for the first time.
On the home front, the announcement features The Living End, Xavier Rudd, Mental As Anything, Skegss, and The Dreggs, with more homegrown heroes like Pierce Brothers, The Southern River Band, and Mark Seymour also joining the party. Bluesfest 2026 promises a rich mix of blues, rock, roots, punk, soul, and folk across its stages, with over 35 acts announced in this first drop.

Bluesfest Director Peter Noble OAM has promised “major improvements” to the site for 2026, including a bigger main stage footprint, expanded seating and undercover areas, and more transport options for festivalgoers. With ticket sales now open and more artist announcements to come, Bluesfest 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark celebration for fans old and new.
