Melbourne’s festival calendar is getting a bold new addition with the launch of Freeform Festival, set to debut at the iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Friday, 10th October. The one-day event has unveiled its first-ever lineup, with electronic music pioneer Four Tet topping the bill.
Joining him is UK multi-instrumentalist Floating Points and acclaimed German producer Skee Mask, who will make his long-awaited Australian debut. Also featured are Atsuo The Pineapple Donkey, genre-fluid duo INVT, and global selector DARWIN. The festival also champions local names like DJ Jnett, Yikes, Yarra, Chuleo Club, and Jono Ma.
Billed as “a celebration of sound without borders and connection without limits,” Freeform Festival promises an all-day journey from sunlight to starlight. With a diverse and forward-thinking curation, the debut edition is already shaping up to be a key fixture on Melbourne’s cultural map.
Early access tickets go on sale Tuesday, 8th July at 12 pm AEST, followed by general release on Thursday, 10th July via Ticketek. The festival’s debut comes as Four Tet also prepares to headline Mode Festival in Sydney the following day, extending his highly anticipated Australian visit.
