Here Comes The Sun 2026 Cancels Torquay Festival Stop

The Victorian leg of the Here Comes The Sun festival has been cancelled just weeks before it was due to launch. The World Surf League presented music event had been scheduled to begin in Torquay on Victoria’s Surf Coast on 4th April, 2026 as the opening stop of a three date Australian run.

The cancellation first surfaced after a festivalgoer reported receiving a refund notification online, with references to the Torquay event subsequently disappearing from the festival’s official website. Organisers have now confirmed the news, stating that the East Coast promoters behind the Torquay event were forced to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances.

Festival organisers confirmed that all ticket holders for the Torquay date have been notified and refunded. The remaining events in Margaret River on 25th April, 2026 and the Gold Coast on 2nd May, 2026 will proceed as planned, coinciding with the World Surf League’s Australian Championship Tour events.

Here Comes The Sun pairs live music with Australia’s coastal surf culture, with the 2026 lineup led by Lime Cordiale and The Jungle Giants alongside artists including Young Franco, Sycco, Eliza & The Delusionals and Mariae Cassandra. Festival Director Ross Macpherson previously highlighted the event’s connection with the surfing community, noting the partnership with the World Surf League aims to strengthen ties between music, surf culture and coastal destinations.
