Minnesota Yacht Club is expanding its Twin Cities footprint with the launch of a brand-new country-focused event, officially announcing Minnesota Country Club for next summer. The two-day festival will take place at Harriet Island Regional Park in St. Paul on 10th and 11th July, landing one weekend ahead of the three-day Minnesota Yacht Club festival and further cementing the organisation’s growing presence on the Mississippi riverfront.
Long the subject of local speculation, Minnesota Country Club marks a notable genre expansion for the promoters, who reintroduced large-scale, multi-day festivals to the Twin Cities two summers ago. While no artists have yet been revealed, organisers have confirmed the event will showcase roots, folk, country and Americana sounds, with a few surprises promised across the weekend.
The timing places Minnesota Country Club in a fiercely competitive summer market, with major touring acts and returning festivals all vying for attention. The region will also host the comeback of Eaux Claires Festival alongside established events such as Blue Ox and Rock Fest, while headline shows from artists like Chris Stapleton and John Mellencamp roll into the area.
With competition for concert dollars heating up across the Midwest, an artist announcement for Minnesota Country Club is expected sooner rather than later. If the event mirrors the ambition and production values of Minnesota Yacht Club, the Twin Cities could soon have a major new destination festival for country and Americana fans to add to an already packed summer calendar.
