Townsville is gearing up for the debut of a brand-new music festival, One Street One Day, set to bring an electrifying mix of Australian talent to the heart of the city on Saturday, 26 July. Taking over Rooney Street for one day only, the event will welcome up to 10,000 attendees for a massive street-style celebration of live music.
Headlining the inaugural event are Aussie hip-hop heavyweights Hilltop Hoods, joined by a genre-spanning lineup including DMA’S, Meg Mac, In Hearts Wake, Coterie, Brad Cox, and Mia Wray, alongside a strong showcase of local artists. Open to fans aged 16 and up, the festival promises a full day of music and community spirit, running from midday until 10pm.
The event is backed by Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements, with support from both the federal and Queensland governments. It marks the beginning of a wider push to bring high-quality live music to regional centres across the country.
Organisers, city officials, and artists alike have expressed excitement over the festival’s launch, with many highlighting Townsville’s vibrant support for the arts. Tickets are available now, with the event shaping up to be a highlight of the North Queensland winter.
