The much-anticipated Pitch Black 2021, initially the COVID-friendly adaptation of the Pitch Music & Arts Festival, has announced its cancellation. The festival was originally set for 23rd October 2021, in an inner-city open-air location in Melbourne, only to be postponed and now ultimately cancelled.
The event had rallied an eclectic lineup, featuring artists such as CC:DISCO!, Jennifer Loveless, Skin On Skin, Jensen Interceptor, Ayebatonye, C.FRIM, DAWS, Escape Artist, Moopie, X CLUB., Kim Ann Foxman, and Skatebård. However, despite organisers' efforts to adapt to the pandemic conditions, circumstances have led to the unfortunate decision to cancel the event entirely.
This comes as a major disappointment to festival-goers and the music community, especially as this news arrives just weeks after the event's rescheduling and subsequent postponement. Despite the setbacks, festival organisers have expressed their commitment to the fans and the music community, promising to return when conditions are safe.
Ticket holders will be contacted directly about refund procedures. The organisers have thanked fans for their understanding and continued support during these challenging times.
