Primavera Sound has officially announced the cancellation of all its 2024 events in Latin America, including festivals in Buenos Aires and São Paulo, as well as Primavera Day events in Montevideo and Asunción. The festivals, which were set to take place between late November and early December, will no longer proceed due to external challenges.
In a statement, Primavera Sound emphasized that the decision was made after months of exploring options to deliver events that met the festival’s high artistic, organizational, and production standards. Alfonso Lanza, director of Primavera Sound, expressed disappointment over the cancellation but highlighted the difficulties posed by the current music industry landscape. "After exhausting all possibilities, we must be prudent and focus our energy on future plans," he said.
Despite this setback, Primavera Sound reassured fans that this is not the end of their presence in Latin America, a region where the festival has been warmly received since its arrival in 2022. The team remains hopeful for a return in the future.
Ticket holders will be contacted by ticketing platforms with details about the refund process in the coming days.
