Primavera Sound Madrid's first day, slated for Thursday, June 8th, has regrettably been cancelled. Organisers made the difficult decision due to continuous severe weather conditions and a prediction of heavy storms on the festival's opening day. They prioritised attendee safety and made the cancellation in consultation with the City Council and local law enforcement of Arganda del Rey, following guidance from relevant technical reports.

These weather conditions not only impacted the pre-production phase of the festival but also led to the cancellation of scheduled activities in Cívitas Metropolitano for the same day. Despite these unfavourable circumstances, the program at the Auditorio Primavera (The Music Station) remains unaffected and will proceed as planned.

Despite these setbacks, Primavera Sound Madrid remains undeterred and will open its doors at Ciudad del Rock in Arganda del Rey on Friday, June 9th, and Saturday, June 10th. The opening evening at the Cívitas Metropolitano will also continue as planned, albeit with a delayed start due to rain. Unfortunately, this delay has resulted in the cancellation of La Paloma's performance; however, all other concerts will continue as scheduled.

Primavera Sound Madrid will keep attendees updated with any new developments through their official communication channels, including their website and social networks. The festival organisers have extended their apologies for any inconvenience this situation may cause and have thanked everyone for their ongoing support.

As for ticketing, day tickets for Thursday, June 8th, will automatically be valid for either Friday or Saturday. If these tickets remain unused, the festival promises an automatic refund following the event's conclusion. Despite the weather’s best attempts, the music and spirit of Primavera Sound Madrid will still prevail.
