The country music boom in Australia hits a new high note with the launch of Strummingbird, a brand-new festival set to debut this October and November. The one-day event will take place across three locations—Sunshine Coast, Newcastle and Perth—bringing some of the biggest names in modern country music to Aussie shores.
Leading the charge is American artist Jelly Roll, whose breakout into country has seen him dominate charts and global stages alike. The four-time Grammy nominee headlines the event off the back of his hugely successful 2024 album Beautifull Brokern, which reached number one on the Billboard 200. Known for his gritty, heartfelt lyrics and genre-blending style, Jelly Roll brings serious star power to Strummingbird’s inaugural edition.
The stacked lineup also features viral sensation Shaboozey, who shot to fame with his Billboard-topping track ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’, alongside red-dirt favourites Treaty Oak Revival, local chart-topper James Johnston, New Zealand’s Kaylee Bell, The Dreggs, Wade Forster and many more. Each city will also feature Late Night Riot, a festival afterparty with Hot Dub Time Machine and Reuben Styles’ party project Y.O.G.A. set to close things out in style.
Strummingbird lands on Saturday 25th October at Kawana Sports Precinct on the Sunshine Coast/Kabi Kabi & Jinibara, before heading to Newcastle Foreshore on Saturday 1st November and wrapping up at Perth’s Claremont Showground on Sunday 2nd November. Tickets go on general sale from 10am AEST on Friday 8th August, with presales starting the day prior. Early access via Moshtix Ticket Request opens at 9am AEST on Friday 1st August.
