Rising Australian rock outfit Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers have pulled out of Austin City Limits Festival 2025, citing financial constraints as the reason behind the decision. The band shared the update via Instagram Stories on 12th August, telling fans, “it isn't financially possible for us to make it work” and expressing their love and hope to return in the future.
Despite being billed on the original ACL 2025 poster for Weekend Two, the band was noticeably absent from the official set times released on 5th August. No formal statement has been issued by ACL organisers, leaving fans to discover the cancellation through the band’s social media post. Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers were scheduled to make their ACL debut as part of a diverse lineup that also includes Hozier, Doja Cat, The Strokes and Marina.
The Canberra-based four-piece have been making waves in the Australian music scene and were set to represent a growing wave of local talent on the international stage. Their withdrawal highlights ongoing financial hurdles that many emerging international acts face when touring abroad, even for high-profile events like ACL.
Weekend Two of Austin City Limits Festival takes place from 10th to 12th October at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas. While fans may be disappointed by the cancellation, there’s hope that Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers will find their way back to US stages in the near future.
