Global festival powerhouse Ultra Music Festival has officially confirmed its long-rumoured New Zealand debut, announcing a landmark event set to take place on 10th April, 2026. The inaugural Ultra New Zealand will be held at the scenic Wellington Waterfront, marking the first time the international brand brings its high-energy production and global lineup to Aotearoa.
The announcement follows early reports from the Wellington City Council in December and has now been made official by Ultra Worldwide in partnership with Audiology Touring and WellingtonNZ. While the full artist lineup is yet to be revealed, expectations are high based on Ultra's legacy of featuring some of the biggest names in electronic music across the globe.
Wellington Mayor Andrew Little welcomed the announcement, noting the significant economic and cultural boost the festival will bring to the city. “It’s time to remind people of Wellington’s place as the live entertainment capital of Aotearoa,” he said. The council also hinted at plans for the festival to remain in Wellington for several years.

Ultra New Zealand will kick off a three-day run of events across the region, preceding Melbourne (11th April) and the Gold Coast (12th April) editions. Pre-sale tickets go live on 17th December at 7:00pm, with general on-sale to follow on 18th December. Fans can sign up now for early access and a chance to win the ultimate Ultra 2026 weekend experience, including tickets to all three shows.
