The Third Room Festival's debut 2024 edition, scheduled for August 17-18 at the Museum for Industrial Culture Henrichshütte, has been cancelled. The announcement, made by the festival team, cites several factors contributing to the difficult decision.

Despite the festival's strong lineup, which featured Daria Kolosova, Perc & Ansome, KiNK, and many more, low ticket sales proved financially unviable. The festival’s organizers, an independent team without major investors or sponsors, found the production costs unsustainable given the anticipated turnout.

Additionally, logistical and administrative challenges in the City of Hattingen played a role in the cancellation. The organizers had hoped to leverage the unique venue and create an intimate, intense atmosphere, but regional constraints and issues with local support made this goal difficult to achieve.
